BRUMARENA

Brumarena is the alias of Ignacio Wer, condensing over 15 years of musical research. It functions as a point of synthesis, embodying a practice that has moved through different musical languages before finding its current form within contemporary electronics.

Six years in Berlin (2019-2025) were central to that formation, shaping a direct relationship with sound, space, and time. There, he developed and recorded 4 albums under his own name, Ignacio Wer — spanning alt-rock, folk, and ambient — 3 of them at Tricone Studios in Funkhaus, evolving from song-based structures toward more open-ended, experimental forms.

With over a decade of experience as a producer, DJ, and label manager, Brumarena today moves between live performance, studio work, and DJ sets. He works extensively with synthesizers and improvisation techniques, building pieces that cross ambient, experimental and dancefloor music, adapting to performance contexts, installations, and clubs alike.

He’s the founder of IGNWR, now being relaunched as a contemporary electronic music label built around two lines: VERA, oriented toward sonic exploration and deep listening, and HARAS, focused on the pulse of the dancefloor. Through these catalogs, he aims to develop a curatorial approach that sustains the tension between introspection and movement.

He co-founded ESPEJISMOS in April 2025, a streaming series and collective featuring live synth improvisations with guest artists, followed by panel-style dialogues revolving around their creative processes – a project that expands his practice into production, curation, and community building and exchange within the music scene. ESPEJISMOS hosted its first dance-based live event in June 2026 in Buenos Aires.

He’s a member of VEEM, a live hardware trio focused on improvised performances, alongside fellow artists JRNDM & Julián Maidana.

  • Arturia Minilab 3.

#2: VEEM
Live Hardware Trio

VEEM is a live trio formed by Brumarena, JRNDM and Julián Maidana. Working with a hardware setup of machines by Elektron, Novation, Moog and others, they shape their music in the moment. Three people listen closely to each other, and a look or a small gesture is often all it takes to understand where the music wants to go.

They made their debut on April 2nd, 2026 at Artlab, Buenos Aires' leading institution for avant-garde electronic arts.

In June 2026 they played at ESPEJISMOS LIVE.I and presented a 1h long set, and in October 2026 they presented an extended 1h30min set at ESPEJISMOS LIVE.II.

ESPEJISMOS is a live electronic music series created by Julián Maidana and Brumarena in Buenos Aires. It was born from a desire to amplify the voice of ambient, electronic music and the people who inhabit and create within those worlds alongside their synthesizers, opening an intimate dialogue between voices, humans and machines.

It started as a streaming show: a space where words and sound mirror each other. Two artists were invited to improvise live, with no rehearsal, no preparation and no preconceptions, for as long as it felt right. Then came a conversation among everyone present about their processes, ideas and emotions. The human and the electronic listening to each other, intertwining, transforming.

Over time, what was happening in front of a camera asked for a physical space filled with people. That's how ESPEJISMOS LIVE came to be: nights where artists from the local scene perform live electronic sets, with machines and with room for the music to breathe in front of others.

5 guest artists have already shared their music with us during our first 2 LIVE editions: Julián Tenembaum, Leandro Pazos, Logos+Ivy, Del Olmo and Agustina Villarraza, alongside our trio VEEM.

Music feels complete when there are bodies in a room. Because improvisation needs risk, and someone on the other side, to make sense. And because we believe in building community: a place where people making music with machines can show themselves as they are, in process, and where those listening can get close to that process without anything in between.

ESPEJISMOS keeps growing, little by little, like a reflection that changes depending on who looks into it.

All volumes and sets can be found in our YouTube Channel.

IGNWR is a contemporary electronic music label founded by Brumarena, where the experimental and the dancefloor coexist in two independent catalogs: VERA and HARAS.

That constant shifting defines its identity. Each release is part of a continuum where rhythm and sound build a language of their own. Minimalism here isn't absence, it's precision: a way of organizing listening and opening space for both introspection and the body.

The label works both logics without hierarchy, following their variations while always keeping an atmosphere that is intimate, deep, and open to free improvisation and expression.

VERA opens a more introspective space within the label, where sound unfolds without the pressure of form or destination. Each piece moves freely, prioritizing atmosphere, detail, and its own sense of time.
Every release is born as the trace of an improvisation in an open state.

HARAS is oriented toward the dancefloor from a direct logic: rhythm, repetition, and variation over time. Each release works rhythmic texture as a foundation to sustain movement, without imposing a single form. It keeps a constant, open energy where the body responds to its own pulse: through the construction of introspective, intimate, and sensitive atmospheres.

Over 6 studio albums, my music has drifted from alt-rock to indie-folk, slowly finding its way into ambient and experimental electronics. Here is a selection of 3 records where those paths intersect.

dramática/insostenible cover

#1“dramática/insostenible” by brumarena & kangba

dramática/insostenible is the first joint album by brumarena and kangba, created during the Insular residency in Buenos Aires, led by Julián Maidana.

At first glance, the pairing might not seem obvious: one moves between ambient and dancefloor electronics, the other builds soundscapes from glitch, industrial noise and electronic experimentation. But they share a deep sensitivity, and this record is where their worlds meet.

4 tracks that move through rhythms and broken beats, evolving melodies and ambient soundscapes, from the luminous to the abstract, until everything dissolves into calm.

Released on IGNWR [VERA001], 2026

en calma, de veras cover

#2“en calma, de veras” by brumarena

En Calma de Veras is Ignacio Wer's first ambient LP and, at the same time, the official introduction of brumarena, his new alias.

Six songs that wander through different corners of ambient electronic music, each one recorded in a single take at his studio in Berlin. No going back, letting every piece last as long as it needs to, such as "te acompaño un rato" a song that stretches across 28 minutes: just enough time to stay a while.

An album deeply influenced by Laurie Spiegel, Éliane Radigue and Brian Eno, whose titles, read in order, form a small poem. To be listened to unhurried, finding, little by little, a true sense of calm.

Composed, produced and recorded by brumarena in Berlin
Mastered by Taylor Deupree at 12k Mastering

Released on IGNWR, 2024.

much a time in ache cover

#3“much a time in ache” by ignacio wer

This 3-track EP is a single journey between ambient and folk, built from one guitar and one instrument.

Every sound in the first two tracks comes from sampling a Taylor KC26ce guitar, recorded with nine microphones around the room and played over the soundboard of a Bösendorfer grand piano to catch the resonance of its strings. Over forty samples, shaped exclusively through granular synthesis into landscapes that feel far from where they began. The album is in continuous-mix format, designed for a single-sit listening session.

Composed by Ignacio Wer. Co-produced with Francis Stuart Milne
Recorded at Tricone Studios in Funkhaus, Berlin
